If your family has a Christmas elf who visits in December, this planner takes the 10 p.m. scramble out of it. Sit down once with a cup of tea, pick a date for each idea, tick off the supplies, and the whole month is planned. Every one of the 24 nights has a short setup line, a list of what you need and an effort tag (10 low, 10 medium and 4 high), so busy weeknights get the easy ones and weekends get the big ones. There is room on each night to write the hiding spot or swap in your own idea.

The ideas are gentle and homey: a toy-car morning parade, a snowflake storm, pillow mountain skiing, a stuffed-animal school, an indoor campout. Nothing scary, no food tricks, no candles and no small parts, and where it matters there is an under-3 note. A one-page supply checklist covers the whole month, so you can shop once, and an elf diary page lets you jot down where the elf was and what the kids said.

The elf can talk, too. There are 24 cut-out elf notes (one per night) plus a page of blank cards, an arrival letter for a first visit, a welcome-back letter for a returning elf, a goodbye letter for Christmas Eve, a reply page for your child, and rescue notes for the mornings the elf didn't move, got touched, arrived late or has a sniffle. A last-minute page has 12 ideas that take about two minutes with things you already own, and a two-page age guide shows how to tweak the month for toddlers, ages 4 to 6 and ages 7 and up.

You get three PDFs: US Letter, A4 and a low-ink version that prints in outlines. The elf in this planner is a generic Christmas elf, so it works with any elf, doll or helper your family already has.
