Rainy days, snow days, sick days and the 4 to 6 pm cooking hour all ask the same question: what do I do with them? This kit is 37 printable pages built so you never have to think up the answer on the spot. Print the cards, cut them, drop them in five jars, and when someone says "I'm bored" they pull one and play starts within two minutes with things already in the house.

The 100 cards are sorted by energy level and by who plays: Burn Energy (25 cards for wiggly, loud afternoons), Calm Down (20 for tired, teary or overexcited kids), Play Alone (20 that give you twenty minutes), Play Together (20 for siblings or a playdate) and While I Cook (15 kitchen jobs and floor games you can watch from the stove). Every card has a 20-word how-to, the ages it suits, the prep time, the mess level, what you need and a tweak line for 3 to 4, 5 to 6 and 7 to 8 year olds. Ten blank cards are there for your own family favorites.

Around the cards there are 6 indoor scavenger hunts (color, shape, texture, sound, kitchen and "find something that..."), 4 painter's tape floor games with diagrams (hopscotch, balance beam, maze and shape jump) plus ten more tape ideas, 12 obstacle course station cards with a course planner, 6 rescue plans for the hardest moments (the sick day on the sofa, the snow day, the 5 pm cooking hour), a rainy week planner, a "we did it" chart, jar labels, an age tweak page and a safety page. You get three PDFs: US Letter, A4 and a low-ink version that prints in outlines.

All activities need a grown-up nearby. Painter's tape goes on floors only, never on stairs, and small parts like buttons, beads and pasta shapes are not for children under 3.
